- National Poet (Rastra Kavi) Madhav Prasad Ghimire died at the age of 101 (2077/05/02 BS). Ghimire, who made remarkable contributions in Nepali literature, was born on Asoj 7, 1976 BS (September 23, 1919) in Bahundada, Pushtun of Lamjung district. Madhav Ghimire wrote Nava Manjari, Gauri, Malati Mangale, Himalpari Himalwari (Sajha Puraskar 2054), Rajeshwari, Indrakumari, Rastranirmata, Kinnar-kinnari, Chaaru Charcha (Sajha Puraskar 2058), Aafno Basuri Aafnai Geet. Ghimire was awarded Padma Shree Sadhana Samman (BS 2067). Ghimire was also awarded by Chhanda Shiromani (On 2060 Ashoj 7) and Rastra Kavi (On Ashoj 10 of 2060).
