Facebook company's new name now 'Meta'

Facebook has changed the name of its parent company. Facebook's chief executive officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg announced on Thursday that the company's name will now be 'Meta'.

CEO Zuckerberg said the new name reflects the company's vision for the future. He said that even though the name of the company has been changed, the name of the social network will remain the same. Facebook has also been running Instagram, WhatsApp and Oculus.

Facebook has now stated that it will expand its work beyond the social network. He has also stated that a new name is needed for him. Facebook recently announced plans to hire 10,000 employees in Europe for the Metavars project, which is being developed to work in the field of virtual reality.

Metavers is referred to as the 'future of the Internet. Some have even called it a refinement of virtual reality. Just as large mobile sets were replaced by smartphones in the 1980's, virtual reality is said to be replaced by metavers. According to the BBC, Metaverse connects all types of digital technology. For that, even if a computer is used now, a device (headset) to be worn on the head will be used in Metavers.

Nowadays, virtual reality is mostly used for playing games, but in Metavers, it is said that it is easy to play games, organize events, watch movies or even chat. Technology analysts also say that it would be difficult to define exactly what Metaverse is, as it is now a thought.
