Hundreds of people from the Jajarkot and West Rukum districts have lost their lives (See recent data from the above page) and many people are injured. The rescue work is going on. Hundreds of houses have been destroyed due to the earthquake. Deputy Mayor of Nalgad Municipality of Jajarkot Sarita Singh has also lost her life in this devastating earthquake.
As a result of the earthquake, the road was blocked due to a dry landslide in Kalekhola of Madhyapahadi Lokmarg.
After the devastating earthquake of 2072, the most human losses have occurred. According to the National Seismological Center, an earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale occurred at 11:47 last night with its epicenter at Ramidanda in Jajarkot. The shock of the earthquake which passed through the center of Jajarkot was felt in many parts of the country including Kathmandu.
